Happy Birthday To Me!

I love my birthday.  I love the opportunity for beginning a new year...leaning ever closer to older and wiser.  I keep believing the older is worth the wiser.

My little husband always makes my birthday special.  He buys the BEST cards and puts them where I can find them unexpectedly.  He loves me.  I got flowers at work...and new scissors!  He pays attention when I mention things I need.  He loves me.

My bestest friend, Stevie, got me a subscription to Mollie Makes...my newest guilty pleasure.  And there was the gift card to amazon.com and the Happy Birthday sign hanging on the chalkboard this morning.  This weekend I got a cool wool purse that everyone thinks I made...I should just let them think that, right?

Another year full of promise and possibility....love and learning...joy and peace.  What's not to love about that?

Born in 1956 and turning 56....hmmm...that won't happen again.

Yep.  Happy birthday to me!

Happy Birthday, Donna!!!! 56 is clearly a significant year for you. Good things are to come. How could they not, with such an upbeat outlook? I love that about you.

Big birthday hugs...

Yeah, um - jealous here. I have photos that need to be scanned to, you know. ;-)

Well, hmmmm. In some sort of way you are probably between WV and UT.

Oh, grasshopper! I'm OLDER THAN YOU. You're my sister's age. I am FOUR YEARS OLDER, almost. But at our ages, who's counting? Or maybe counting counts for more than it used to. What wonderful birthday surprises. I've looked at Mollie Makes and thought it was fabulous - and TOO EXPENSIVE. Wow. Stevie - what a tremendous present. Wish I coulda done it. But I didn't even know it was coming anyway, or I'd have stopped scanning to do something. So an unbirthday will have to happen sometime - later - later. As for now, Happiest of birthdays, happiest of years - best of everything!!! And one hundred kisses (which will have to be delivered by somebody else).

Yeah, but the Mountaineers are kind of putting a damper on the par-tay!

Donna said...

Thanks, WSW, it does feel like an adventure year in the making....not sure why, but bring it on!

Whoa - Donna!! THREADED COMMENTS!! YES!! And they aren't huge like mine are. I LOVE this. Can't we work out some kind of convention that you two can justify coming to? Something tax deductible - like if I offered a course on using inDesign, or Writing Effectively, or - it could be a spiritual thing. A sort of Women of Good Heart seminar. I don't think we could get away with "How to Knit Horses of the Western American Deserts"

Boo Hoo :(

Rachel said...

Oh! I could offer a class/seminar too! On how to change an adult size diaper!! Now THAT will bring em' all out west..... we're all going to end up in diapers someday so it is a good skill to learn!

Rachel said...

Actually....... KRISTEN!!!! In the summer, what if I could get my sis in law's condo up in Park City???

W-S Wanderings said...

Oooh - let's do a spiritual thing. Cuz Writing Effectively probably involves proofreading effectively, and then I'd have to pay attention to my comments and compositions(to/too, its/it's, blah, blah, blah).

Hmmm. Rachel's offer is good too, though. I see her reasoning. I could do a related presentation on how to navigate the Canadian government's community and social service programs. There is funding out there for diapers. In Canada. That would be helpful to y'all, no?

That's a very good year (not that I'm partial to it or anything!! LOL). I hadn't thought about being born in 56 and turning 56. Hope your day and year are filled with joy and passion and peace and love!! blessings ~ tanna

So, threaded means I was reading both of your blogs and trying to tie them together instead of taking the time to go back and comment on each one? Yeah, I'm for that!
Now, I must think of something I can offer to the gathering....
Oooh, ooh, I know. If we are going with a spiritual theme, I can teach all of us to make baskets to put our blessings in! Will that work? Or we can store our adult diapers in them!

Rachel said...

Yes, a basket to put our blessings and diapers and Kristen's writing and Wabi's instructions on how to get free adult diapers from Canada in!

I'm dead serious ladies! If I provide the condo in Park City, UT......... who wants to come and play????

Donna said...

And I so enjoy being Grasshopper to your Po! But who's counting? It is good to have a friend who never worries about money...and never needs to, really.
And don't worry Kristen, Un - birthdays are my next most favorite!

Donna said...

Hey, I learned that skill my first year of teaching! It was in interesting year.

Donna said...

Yea! I am in really good company if you are in the 56/56 club, too.

Rachel, I would seriously consider this adventure! But it scares me....

Rachel said...

I know. Kristen can come across as a tad scary at times but I'll make sure she is a good girl and keep her under control.

Donna said...

Don't be getting me into trouble!

Happy birthday!! It sounds like you know how to appreciate a really special day. Molly Makes is tops on my birthday wish list too... You'll have to share what Donna makes so I can see what I'm missing. :)

Blessings, Debbie

Ha!

Donna said...

Thanks, Teje! My husband passed 56 a few years ago!

Donna said...

Debbie, if you order before Tuesday the subscription is 40% off! Go now.

Rachel said...

Yikes! That would be an interesting year if you were having to deal with diapers.....

Melissa Plank said...

Happy Birthday Donna! Have a delightful year!

Donna said...

Yep. My master's degree is in etching the severely and profoundly handicapped and that's what they were! But each one still lovable in their own special way.

Donna said...

And how did you have such a big birthday as 60 without me knowing this?

Donna said...

Um. Teaching, that would be teaching...not etching! What? Really.
