A Happy Heart

I got this sweet letter from one of my little darlings from last year.

Gives me a little glow...
So, I made her a little hand hold-able heart to take to school with her...and hold as needed.

Now, I am off to write just the right words to assure and encourage her and get this in the mail for her.
Ah.  A happy heart answering my calling.

How cool is this? I still have a box of the letters and notes my high school kids wrote for me over the years. If I read them every day I might start to believe in myself. But I have seen with my own eyes that you have, in yourself, so much to believe in truly. She will have that heart forever. If I were her, I would.

I have several sweet notes from parents, but this is one of the first from kids. I found it a special place and hopefully it won't be the last. I hope she love the heart to pieces...and then I will make her another one.
Believe in yourself???? Your generous amazing self? Oh, and you can write! I keep forgetting to tell you that I read Alien (on my Kindle...sorry) and I LOVED it. It was so funny. I kept wanting to share things with you as I was reading, because I just knew you would love it. duh. I could hear you in your writing. It has been weeks (and I have recommended it to several others) and I still find myself wondering about those characters....how did you do that? I'm still reading Billy(?)...but am so tired by evening that I can't sit here long. Anyway, I am totally impressed. Which one should I read next?

Aw, that's gorgeous. And what a wonderful teacher you must be to inspire such a note :) Love the little heart you made for her, lovely idea.

Pinkundine...I retired last year, so I don't get to see thier little faces this year. That made this even more special to me!

Yay!!! I finally read it!! Where have I been that I hadn't seen it? You made me feel WoNDERFUL!!! Probably Breaking Rank because it was the next one I wrote. I'm glad you loved the funny parts. Most people get caught on The Kiss. But it's the funny parts that let the characters be human, I think. I love that you could hear me. And I keep think that, as soon as all this (what, exactly, I wonder?) settles down, I'm going to write another one. A story that will engage my heart for the first time in a long time. I am so thrilled to share these with you.
