Hello Yellow!

So, even though it is still March and I have had to give up all hope of snow and put away the winter clothes and my sweet new snow boots....I have to admit to enjoying the changing of the seasons...as I always do.

If you remember, back in the fall, Stevie and I planted LOTS of bulbs for just this time.  If you don't remember, you can go here and read all about that adventure:

(I don't know why it didn't turn blue)

Here are the fruits, or flowers, of our labors!

I didn't plant forsythia at Shangri La Ti Da yet...but I want to.

This one is Colt's Foot.  Does it grow where you live?  It is usually the
very first flower to show its happy color.
And everyone's favorite 'weed'.
 Couldn't ignore these lovely purples....

Last, but not least, is this tree...a tamarak?  I think that is what it is called.  It looks like an evergreen all summer and then looses all its 'needles' for the winter.  They are just now coming back.

How is spring looking in your neighborhood?

I'll show you in a little. We used to have windflowers and primroses, but they've gone - don't know where. We have several kinds of crucus. I love daffs with their variety and cheerfulness. And we have a wonderful forsythia bush that I used to do a traditional spring shot with M and Chaz - and I wil again, if I can find a time when those two people can be in the same place at the same time. I'm so glad you had the foresight to plant for spring. That is an act of hope - but also the very definition of faith. You have hope for spring - but you do more than hope - you plant. YAY!!

Spring looks so pretty in your neck of the woods! We of course are winding down for Autumn but still lots and lots of rain....

I bought a new apple tree, - Honey Crisp - too...haven't planted it yet...frost warning tonight! I can't wait until my daffodils spread out all on their own to fill up the forest floor. Looking forward to the tour of your yard in spring.
Hope and faith and the mystery of the plan the Creator put into action...

I love how I can see your seasons and not forget what I have to look forward to even in the midst of what is happening here.

Oh those daffodils with the peach centers!!!! Those are amazing!

I love bulbs. I came back from my trip to all of my hyacinths up and blooming. Amazing. I was just gone for a few days and up they popped and went crazy. They smell delicious!

Nothing like a bit of green and yellow and purple and COLOR after a long brown/grey winter.

Spring in my neighborhood looks nothing lie spring in your neighborhood. But I know it's just around the corner! How wise of you to plant the bulbs last fall... Beautiful.

Blessings, Debbie

OOOh. I love hyacinths, but didn't plant any yet. Do the deer eat them? I have deer issues.
Glad you got to come home to your sweet smelling garden! Love the magic of Spring.

You know, I have no idea about the deer! We have deer in the field behind us. They come close but haven't come in our yard. Yet. We'll see come this summer with our gardens that we're putting in next to the field....... that may all change.......

Yes, we have to fence our garden...and those pesky deer nibble my arborvitae down to almost twigs this winter and it wasn't even a bad winter. They also nibble the rose bushes...but leave the lovely daffodils alone! Goofy deer. I'm hoping we will have fewer incidents after we actually live out there.

it's so exciting to watch your home spring to life.

Littlest One LOVES "lello". I must show her this post full of gorgeous lello flowers. You've inspired me to get some bulbs planted this fall. Ours didn't survive the renovation, except for one surprise tulip that popped up in the middle of the yard. We transplanted it, but it didn't survive :-(

And yes, methinks it IS tamarack. We have it in our woods too :-) Did you notice what they looked like just before they sprouted their needles? Very cool.

I don't think I will have a harvest this year, but part of the joy of planting it the anticipation and possibilities.

Just another reason to love Littlest! We both love 'lello'. Yes, my tamarack lives right up the street from me so I get to watch it every day...amazing.
It is hard to remember where you put those bulbs and not renovate right over them!
