Small Beauty and Joy

While we worked in the really heavy mist, but not quite rain, at La Ti Da yesterday,
I kept being overwhelmed with sparkles and shine...

There was so much.  So much beauty in such small and insignificant places.  As soon as I noticed these drops of diamond, I tried to walk only where I had already walked so as to not dislodge anymore of the magic.  How can a Creator who creates diamond drops for the weeds to wear, not care about me?  If  only I would look and see, I am sure there are diamond drops on me, from time to time....

I really tried to not be in the picture, but there I am in both of them.  Still water and shiny.

And I will be gone for a weekend to San Antonio for the Women of Joy conference...that was paid for long ago, while I was still working.  The last one I went to was within driving distance.
My take away from that one was the song, I Am A Friend of God...He calls me friend.
Some days I am not a very good friend to my God...forget to talk to him or check in with him. or stand up for him...and still he showers my life with beauty...sparkles and shine!
So. perhaps no computer while I am away.

You have found the extraordinary in the ordinary. God does send us some amazing gifts if we just pay attention! Have fun in San Antonio! I'd love a bowl of tortilla soup from Mi Tierra. Ahhhh... and a walk along the riverwalk...

I know you will be blessed by your meeting! Enjoy! blessings ~ tanna

Phooey. Then I can't talk to you. What a lovely post. And is that not at the heart of testimony? That a God who can design such beauty, such tender, fragile beauty must have a reason for doing it? Gladdening the hearts of his children. Reminding them of so many things - of wonder, of light, of how we each reflect the world to others. We take all this stuff for granted. But other planets are out there - desolate and without this deep embellishment. This isn't just the way things fell out - it is too amazingly intricate and wonderful.

I'm glad you were in the shots, because you DO sparkle and shine in my life. And when you are a good friend to me, you are a good friend to Heavenly Father - because that's the job he set us, to feed his sheep. When Rachel feeds my horses, it is deeply important to me - allows me to do the other work I have to do - takes away my worry, makes me love her all the more. You are a great sheep-feeder.

Have a great trip!!

***Kristen, being a reflection of the God who creates such amazing beauty for us is an honor and awesome responsibility...I need to be the shine and not the cloud of gloom and doom. I'm sure there are others who are called to tell us about the gathering gloom, but I am called to notice and tell about the current beauty.
***Wabi, ditto! :D And you don't even have to say anything...I am just so happy you come to visit.
***Melissa, now you need some small sparkly beeds to add to your amazing yarn.
***Tanna, go look at the San Antonio blog...we went to Mi Tierra! Wow.
