Woolie Ornaments and Friends

Today I taught a Whimsical Woolie ornament class to 8 fun ladies.  I took several of the ones I had made and all the supplies for them to make 3 of their own.  It was such fun to see how some of them took my example and made it completely their own and how some took my example and made it look so much like mine it was hard to tell them apart.  We had a quiltler, a couple of daughters of crafty mothers, a couple I never really did this before, but I'm willing to try, a couple of crafty types and one stress out perfectionist sort...one in every crowd, right?  Anne?  :D   Stevie was my photographer and story teller.  I'm good with teaching, she's good with people.
Have a look...
 First, a little stitching instruction.

Next, a chosing of ornaments.

Then, a little practice and a little help from our friends.

And then, when I got back to Kingwood, they had put up the Christmas lights!
Tis the season....well, sort of...but I love our Christmas lights....
They are really winter lights...snowflakes and snowmen.

Yea! I made the blog! I finished my bird just a minute ago. I love it! I couldn't sleep knowing he was unfinished. Thanks for the wonderful instruction. It is a joy to be the student for a change. I think my mom would be proud of me. :)

I had a wonderful time. Now, how do I part with them?

Karyn...you will need to make a set for yourself before you can let any of them go. I'll bring more felt! If your mom isn't proud, you just quietly reposess the lovliness that you gifted her with - well, that's what I do!
Tanna...wish you were there, too. I was scared, but it ended up being fun. All lovely ladies that I knew.
Debra...we were right there in your neighborhood, if you hadn't rushed off to FLA!

It's dark now. Dark SO early. For me, Christmas lights do signal the season, but they also lift the gloom that is a six o'clock NIGHT TIME. Colored lights. Dancing in the storm wind. I wish I'd been at the class, and that I'd met Karyn. it looks like such fun. And as to parting with them, Karyn - it's very, very, very hard. REALLY hard. I recommend that you give them to your children. That way, you still have them.

Kristen...I have a HARD time not getting ready to go to bed when it gets dark! I don't really get why we have the time change anymore, but that's probably just me.
You would like Karyn (she's my Zumba teacher and my Lydia's, from last year, mother and an English teacher).
I'm thinking we need to start saving our money and in a few years we can go to a Sue Spargo class together somewhere...that's what I'm thinking....unless you want to come here for a class! I'll take on another one if you are coming...acutally, I showed them the heart you made me and told them that was an example of where they could go with their ornaments! They were intimidated...of course. So, maybe you teach the class next time!
ps. Glad you are home safe and sound.

What wonderful fun! They are all just gorgeous. The ornaments, and the women... :) Now I'm going to pop back and see how much the house has changed in 20 days!

Blessings, Debbie

Okay, I am SO in on the combined Donna and K Incredible Ornaments Class! Donna, you are one SOLID teacher to have your students creating such wonders right from the git go! The ornaments are FABULOUS. And OF COURSE they would be ridiculously difficult to give away - I mean, look how awesome they are!

WSW - Two of my ladies, that I zumba with, have bought their own supplies and are making many more ornaments for Christmas gifts....makes a teacher's heart happy! Now, if we could get Kristen to show them how to do the fancy stuff!
