Potential

Lately, I have been feeling a bit different some how.
Does that ever happen to you?  Do you sometimes sense a shift in who you are?  Do you still feel like you have the potential to BECOME?
This feeling comes over me every once in awhile and I like it....
What triggers the feeling?
A new challenge?  A challenge accomplished?  A nudge from God?

I don't know.  But, I like it.

Currently I am becoming lighter, free-er, more focused, but less intense...is that possible?

I'm learning new things...knitting!  I love learning new things.  I am starting new things...teaching Sunday school.  I love teaching.

I am making new friends...all of you guys!  That stretches me...maybe I will be tall and skinny soon!

Just like the beautiful new yarn that I bought today for my next project....full of potential.

The potential to become that sweet cardigan that I can embellish with my felt creations.
The potential to become a horrible tangled mess.
But I am choosing to hold onto the picture of the cardigan in all of its sweetness.

And talk about sweetness...I bought yarn to make my first animal friend, too....a little lamb.  I have a soft spot for lambs because the very idea of the Good Shepherd makes me want to be in His flock...a lamb of God.

Don't you just love the sheep on the yarn wrapper checking out the knitted sheep?  If you need to knit a little flock for yourself, visit Linda at www.mamma4earth.com   She has lots of cute ones and even a brand new swan pattern today on her blog.

So, embrace your potential to become more and more who you were born to be...a lamb of God!

I'm knitting some of Linda's patterns right now too. The bodies of the alpaca and bear are all knit up, and I'm working on the cat. I do the knitting part at work and will surreptiously (they're gifts) sew, stuff, and otherwise finish 'em at home.

AND YOU'RE KNITTING A CARDIGAN. I mean, you just STARTED knitting. Oh, how I admire this about you! And brilliant, this inspiration of yours to embellish the cardigan with your felt art. Just brilliant.

Yay!

Maybe it's all three - a gentle nudge from God to embrace the challenges and celebrate the accomplishments. And I like it too.

Wait. I missed your last sentence the first time 'round. I don't see how, cuz it's a FABULOUS sentence.

Yes. Yes. and Yes. I know that feeling. I'm in the middle of a wave of it. You will find that a sweater is much easier than some people might think. I made one with deer on it once. I'll have to take a picture of it. I made the whole thing up, too. And the lamb is a very good place to start. If you have problems, just drop a note to Linda or me, and we'll get through it. Sheep. Sheep. I have made a few. I make them tiny, of course. I don't know why, but I make everything tiny. Takes up less storage space. Isn't it fun to be in the same flock, bleating around the feet of the same shepherd?

WSW, I might be biting off more than I can chew, but it is a tendency that I have in most things...also how I teach. If you want to know, I can show you how to get there....but it works best if there is something that the student WANTS to learn/do. One of my tutoring groups loves reading Reader's Theaters and now they want to write their own...well, OK...we can do that. Once had Kindergarten kids write a grant to get $$$ so we could make kimonos, have a tea ceremony and go eat at a Japanese restaurant. They cried while they were doing it, but were SO proud when they won the grant $$$. (and I KNEW ahead of time that they would win...so I wasn't torturing them for no reason.)
Can't wait to see the reveal of your animals!

Isn't it interesting how it comes in waves. Maybe we just couldn't sustain it long term. I am looking forward to knowing enough about how knitting works to be able to make up my own stuff, too! What kind of tiny sheep do you make? ARe they felt ones or knitted ones? I have two little ones that ride on the dash of Gwendolyn to remind me of my lambiness. I am completely thrilled to be in the same flock....baaa baaaa baaaa...and my tendency to wander off, not so strong anymore.
Sweater? Yeah, sure. Why not? Can't wait to see yours. The pile of yarn is a little bit intimidating...and such a commitment! But, the potential outweighs all that!

Look up the meaning of my name. :)

Yummy yarn!!! I know that yarn! It is going to make a fantastic cardigan!

I think I've hit a plateau in my growth at the moment. Kristen and I were talking about that a bit today. My spirit and body just aren't getting along. Haven't been for a few years and it is driving me crazy!!!!!

Tanna, that's it...a dormant state passed and a growth spurt happening! Love that visual...
I'm thinking it might be awhile before either are done, but I will be starting on Sunday evening.

Oh, Rachel, you are a named Lamb of God! Mine means 'lady', my poor mother had high hopes!
Plateaus can be a safe place to gather strength for the next growth spurt....be still and know that he is God and that you are clearly one of his lambs.
Heck, you are probably the head sheep...or at least one of his favorites!
