me: Man, I'm so glad I don't have to do laundry here.
God: Bless them.
me: What? How?
God: Ice cream.
me: What? Just get them some ice cream? They won't have spoons.
God: Ask.
me (while checking out with my ice cream): Do you have any spoons?
clerk: Yeah, sure. Over there.
me: Oh. Then I need to get another ice cream.
God: See? (God is a man of few words, isn't He?)
And I could just feel the smile on His face get bigger and bigger as I delivered the ice cream.
me (to the momma and child): You should get to eat ice cream when you have to do laundry.
Momma and child: Thanks! (with big smiles...like God's!)
And I was wearing my church t-shirt that says Faith in Action...
I have been praying that God would help me be more aware of His nudges and brave enough to carry them out.
It didn't even hurt.
Thank you, Lord.

Oh man! With the gazillion loads of laundry that I did today.... ice cream would have made it WAY better.
You are a blessed angel Donna. The Lord spoke and not only did you listen but you, brave girl, acted on the prompting.
You are so many kinds of wonderfulness!!! And I get to be your friend! Which I consider to be a God given blessing.
I really just posted this because of some of the conversations we had together and your blessing of flowers to your friend.
See? We are good for each other!
I tell my kids to surround themselves with friend who build and uplift them. I'm just following my own advice. You ARE good for me! :D
Awww that was so sweet of you! The mother and daughter must have felt so happy after receiving a very thoughtful act of kindness from a complete stranger. God bless you more, Ms Donna! :)
Well, I just hope your kids are as lucky as we are! <3
Thanks, Farida! I know I would have been happy to get ice cream when I was doing laundry!
:D
I love that you did this. You brightened not just their day, but mine too.
Thanks, WSW. Hope I can continue to hear and be brave.
You can. You will. And you are.
:D Thanks.
God. Bless. You. Those little nudges. If we would just slow down and pay attention to them. I hate it when I make God scream to get my attention! I just read your blog about your adopted sister. Perfect. I've seen that you are kindred spirits and what a blessing to see the two of you together. I'm thrilled for you both.. and a little jealous. :)
Blessings, Debbie
Thanks, Debbie. It is so nice to hear your voice again! God still has to scream at me from time to time, too...but, I'm trying!
