Creative Turn

For those of you have been following for awhile, you know what my Whimsical Woolies usually look like.  They are cute and whimsical and flat and framed...like these...

PeaceFall

Love Birds

Now, I am feeling an urge to create in a more 3D sort of way.  Do others of you have tales of your creativity taking a turn?  Kind of exciting and lots of new learning....
Here are a couple of my latest Woolie creations all puffed up.
Meet Stella.
I love her.

Still learning the 3D thing...not a lot of shaping yet.

She sits up on her own, but can't stand.

I have a friend who lives at Fearington Village where they keep
a herd of "Oreo" cows and "Oreo" goats.  They
really have some other less fun name...
belted something????
So, anyway, she sent me the fun t-shirt and I made her the cool
"Oreo" kitty pillow.  She likes cats and I do cats.
Worked out well.  :-)

See the 3D-ness.  My friend at
church told me this is a box stitch.
I thought I made it up.

I'm sure there are things I need to learn that will make the 3D-ness easier and 3D-ier.  But, you gotta start somewhere and I am liking my two starts so far.

You are so creative, Ms Donna! I wish I knew how to create the likes of Stella and your whimsical woolies. I have stopped cross-stitching which I loved in the past. My creativity somehow is mostly done through writing and depicting photos related to them. Have a fun weekend! :D

She can't stand up because she has no SKIN. You can't stand up if you don't have, like, muscles and things. Sheesh Donna. She's nothing but - felt and bones. Otherwise, and besides the fact that she frightens me and I'm wondering how you came up with this concept in the first place - she's awfully cute. And I mean that literally. I love the things you do. I could never come up with designs like this. (puddles up and sits on the floor). I love to see 'em!!

I think I want to try houses....a whimsical little village of houses....
So happy you like Stella....the steleton.

You took a creative turn, too....your writing and pictures are creative for sure. Going to a craft day at church today so it should be fun. Thanks for visiting!

I think that maybe I secretly don't want her to be able to stand up....I want her to need me still, just a little bit.
Don't you love skeletons? I usually taught a big fun unit on them during October I had one boy child, who each year until he left the building, would ask me to draw him a skeleton like we did in kindergarten.
Don't you see things you love and make them your own? How do you come up with stories? It's a mystery. It's a gift. Get up off the floor and go to your craft room you silly girl.
I'm glad you aren't too scared of her.

I will consider a witch of some sort!
Warts and stripey legs....

Stella is stellar! Creepy AND whimsical. How is that possible? That takes the eyes, hands, and soul of an artist to create. Seriously, Donna, I just LOVE Stella. And you cracked me up with your oreo kitty. You are brilliant. And gifted.

Thanks so much, WSW!
Do you have 'oreo' cows up there? They are really cute and you should get some for your farm...and the goats, too...go look them up. Really cute. Think of all the photo ops with Littlest!
