Monday!

Only Monday and it's already been a productive week!
Yep.  It's been one of those days.  I got up early and happy, spent the morning teaching my tutoring kids for the first time...so much FUN!  Soooo much food for my soul.  Ahhh.  The morning SPED by.  Can't wait for tomorrow.
Went up the mountain to Terra Alta to meet with my favorite printer and get more business cards printed.  I also got my little husband's Christmas present designed and ordered.  He wants to memorize the Sermon on The Mount...Matthew, chapters 5 - 7, so I am having a pocket sized book printed and bound in leather for him.  I'm pretty excited.  Don't tell my little husband about this.  :-)
Then, my new "vintage" couch got delivered....wanna see?

So, $35.  Deal, right?  I will have it reupholstered in polka spots...haven't decided what colors yet.  Probably find a home in my studio space...
Had a tree that fell down in our little woods cut up and split and stacked for firewood.

Made a yummy soup for dinner.
Walked up town for the Christmas parade.  I love my little town and its 20 minute parade!  And it was about 60 degrees still!  But, that is about to change...wind is blowing and snow is coming.  I put snowflakes on my bulletin board today....they will be good until about April!
And to top it all off  we got Jingled.  (http://www.beenjingled.com/)  I will have to be Jingling someone else tomorrow.  What fun.

It was a GREAT day.  You know?  One of those days where it just all goes smoothly, effectively, happily....wow.

Here a couple of pictures of the house today...brick on and a peek at the color.  The bricks will eventually be painted the same color.

Oh, and Kristen, I told you I made a garland, too.  Here is mine.  Not so much repurposing, but still pretty festive for a first try!  And the colors????  My fireplace is really a quite lovely sandy celery color...one photo is with the flash and one without, but neither are quite right.

And the Mountaineers are winning the basketball game!  Gotta go and sew.  Hope your day was spectacular, too.
An abundance of exclamation points...and I didn't even put in all that I wanted...yep.  That kind of day.

WOW! It took my breath for a second when I saw how much has gone on on the front of the house. It look so pretty. As for the couch, what a great idea. Polka spots with some orange in them maybe? Haha...

I wondered about calling you, but didn't know if you painted outside or just inside. :-)
Orange???? Perhaps.

Very happy garland! And the first shot gives me the celery. There's just a very nice satisfaction in making something and putting it the heck up. The house looks great, and I love a yellow house. And $35 for the couch? I wish I'd had a day like you had. I think I woke up weird and tired and I've been itchy and restless and unsatisfied and sort of shabby the whole darn day. But my lights are mostly up. And my tree begs to be decorated. And certainly, I have laid in a supply of sugar enough to keep me for a year (and that in the last three days). I wish eating didn't have such dire consequences - because after thanksgiving, I just keep wanting to do it.

I knew that you'd love tutoring. Of course I knew it. Anybody's who's known you for more than three minutes knows it. I love the gift you're making for him, by the way. A treasure. And the duck's heads on the couch? Oh, love, love, love.

Glad you're back. Glad I'm back. Let's have a party.

***Kristen, putting the garland up is no real guarantee that it will get to stay here, but I am enjoying it for now. EATING! Arggh. It should be pleasurable, but for me it is mostly stressful...mostly, but I am making progress...slow...slow...
I am happy to be back and have these conversations with you. Tutoring went smoothly again today...added kids....
Hope your day went well and your tree is all decorated and beautiful. I'm so sure that it is or, at least, will be soon. What else could it be?

Am loving the colour of your house. And the curves of the couch are FABULOUS! It's just the style of couch that I love. And your garland, it's warm, bright, and happy. I've been thinking about garlands a lot lately, but no time to string my ideas into one.

WSW, I have never had or even been around a couch with this much curviture, but it just called to me, sitting out there all lonely like. Now I am on the hunt for a polka spot fabric...in grays and blacks and whites??? or confetti like? Regular spacing or irregular?

I love the yellow and that couch is fabulous. I vote irregular.
Now I see what you were talking about. When I passed the other day I glanced down the lane and only caught sight of the newly set bricks. The house is quickly turning into a home. Sure is beautiful!

Confetti like. Irregular. FOR SURE.
