Featured Artiste

Yes, I feel like I should say it "artiste" instead of just artist...right?  When you are featured at a gallery and all, right?  Today, I took a trip up the mountain (just about 40 miles that takes 1 1/2 hours if there is no weather going on) to one of our ski resort areas in the state and a wonderful gallery/shop called Mountainmade.
I delivered to them 12 framed pieces, 13 ornaments, 2 necklaces, 3 pieces of kids clothing, 5 hats and 10 Carolina snowflakes and now, just now finally, I am feeling some relief and can now craft for me.  I have a small project in mind and the WVU Mountaineers are playing (but not very well at this moment) on the radio, so I think I will go make something as soon  as I finish here.
If you go to the website http://www.mountainmade.com/ you can see one of my pieces on the main page.  If you go to the blog, you can see where my art will be hung on the far left wall of the far left photo of the We Have Moved post.  It really is a nice gallery...friendly and comfortable while still being very professional and focused.

Part of the trip, near the top of the mountain has such a vast vista view that it makes my vertigo kick in and I drive right on the center line....no guard rails up there!  So, it was too scary to try to get a picture for you.
I did, however. take a picture of these beauties....

At one point during the drive I could see on the horizon nearly 70 of these.  They are so amazing.  A bit of a driving hazard for me, as I am constantly craning my neck to see them and count them and listen for the soft swoosh of them.  There was some hoorah about them in the beginning, but I think they should put picnic tables under them.  They are so so so big.  It is always exciting to pass one of the blades being delivered on a long long long truck...
I know.  Evidently I am easily amused and impressed.  Judge me if you must, but I love these things.  You did click on the picture to see them a bit bigger, right?

And here is a picture of another beauty.  This is our kitty girl Phig.  Interesting name, right?  When we found her (or she found me) we took her to the vet and told them her name was House Guest.  WE were not keeping her, just getting her ready to adopt out.  6 weeks later when we took her back we told them her name must be Permanent House Guest...aka...PHiG!  She is the softest kitty fluff....except for perhaps Sherman, the cotton coat kitty.

Thinking about New Year's ...
Are you?

Donna...I LOVE THOSE WINDMILLS!!!!! Where are these at?? I do the same thing when I have to go to the regional jail and pass through Belington. I have ran off the road before craning my neck to try to count them LOL!! The Tygart Valley Regional Jail is up on a big hill and the windmills look so big and close from up on the hill! Oh how I love those things. Your picnic table idea is great!!! I'd love to have one in my back yard!!!

Your talent amazes me!! I am so happy that you taught me a bit of that talent! I have truly enjoyed learning it!! So, now you can relax and enjoy the New Year!!!

<3 ya!

Congratulations, Miss Artiste!! That's awesome to have your work in a gallery! I'll be off to check that out as I leave here.

Those wind generators are all across the west Texas skyline... I have to admit they make me a little sad as they have covered acres and acres for as far as you can see... used to be an uninterrupted view... now, it looks like Christmas lights every night. They are HUGE though to see on a semi, aren't they?

Congrats again, Donna! Great job. blessings ~ tanna

**Tanna, I don't know how I would feel about them on the flat. Ours are all along the ridge of Backbone Mountain and I have never seen them at night...with lights.
***Kerry, I remember you saying you love them. I think I may have stolen the judge me comment from you. I have at least learned to drive really slowly so I'm not quite as dangerous. If you have any reason to go through Thomas you should stop in and see my stuff all hung up and looking professional. I can't wait for us to make some more pretties!

***Oh, Kerry, these are at Red House. I pulled into the parking lot at that antique store at the blinking light.

Happy New Year to you Donna! How fantastic to be featured!! I'm hoping to be 'featured' in an etsy shop (Ahem Kristen!!!) here soon as I am working on the cutest little grey cable knit sweater for a baby boy.....

We have a bunch of those windmills south of us. The winds come out of the canyon and at the mouth they have placed these windmills. One day we found it fascinating that all were turning but one. We couldn't figure out why the one wasn't until our son who wants to be a pilot had us take notice of the blades. They were turned out. For a reason none of us know, who ever is in charge of the windmills had turned the blades so it wouldn't turn. I didn't know they could do that!

I'm excited for you Donna. This is a great way to end the year and start a new one!!! Happy day and Happy New Year!

**Rachel, you will certainly be one of the "featured" artistes in a joint etsy shop...well, at least, I won't be because I have hardly anything left here...but when it is time, I will sew for a purpose again.
I didn't realilze the windmills were everywhere. Ours, on top of the mountain, are turned every which way and rarely are they ever all going...who IS in charge of that?
And Happy New Year to you, and yours!

Now, a gallery featured artiste is something else! Yay, you! And so many more good things to come, too. Sheesh, you are a power*full force - like those windmills.

Blessings...
